The handover ceremony of the Municipal Council of Paralimni and acceptance of the Municipal Council of Paralimni - Deryneia took place today in the event hall of the Municipal Hall of Paralimni.
In his speech, the outgoing Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. Theodoros Pyrillis, highlighted the series of projects that the local authority has implemented or launched, addressing special thanks to the members of the Municipal Council from 2012 until 2024.
He did not fail to congratulate the new Mayor, the Deputy Mayors and the members of the Municipal Council of Paralimni - Deryneia, pointing out that he himself will support them in all their efforts.
In turn, the first Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. Giorgos Nicolettos, emphasized that the goal of the new Municipality is, among other things, to create equal opportunities for development and progress for all citizens, regardless of the four municipal districts, and that the new municipal council will pay every strong effort for the development of the local authority. He did not fail to thank the outgoing Mayor and members of the Municipal Council of Paralimni and gave the promise of hard work in cooperation with the entire municipal council.
Mr. Theodoros Pyrillis ceremonially awarded the Municipality's necklace to the new Mayor, while in turn Mr. Giorgos Nikolettos awarded a commemorative plaque to the outgoing Mayor for his continuous service.
Then the names of all the members of the new Municipal Council were announced and presented before the citizens.
Before the start of the ceremony, a consecration was performed by the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Mr. Vasilei and priests of the Metropolis.
