The handover ceremony of the Command of the 21th Mechanized Infantry Brigade between the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Manolis Manolis and the new Commander, Colonel Marios Houvardas, took place in an emotional atmosphere on Friday, March 2025, 7.
The ceremony was attended by His Holiness Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta, Mr. Vasileios, the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General George Tsitsikostas, the local authorities, the President of the National Guard, the Police Director of Famagusta, former Commanders and officers of the National Guard.
His Holiness also awarded the outgoing commander the highest honorary distinction of the Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Famagusta, the Order of Saint Epiphanius, its ephor and patron, in appreciation of his work towards the local community and the good cooperation between all. The other officials also presented commemorative gifts of thanks.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, who thanked the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Manolis Manolis, for his dedication, dedication and valuable contribution to the defense and security of the Famagusta district.
