Pyrillis: Fire and fury with Hatzigianni - Seneki: "They want to abolish the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia"

The announcement of the Mayor of Paralimni is unfounded: "With their actions, the two MPs are strengthening the efforts of those who want to put a tombstone in the province of Famagusta"

"The abolition of the reform of the local government in the free province of Famagusta seems to be methodically attempted by the deputies Kyriakos Hatzigiannis of DISY and Christos Senekis of DIKO with their proposal to appoint the Eparchus (civil servant) as President of the Temporary Coordination Council of the province of Famagusta" says the Mayor of Paralimni in a statement.

The announcement of Theodoros Pirillis is the same:

"In the local self-government reform law, it is provided for all provinces, that the seat of the District Council is in the Metropolitan Municipality and the District Council is chaired by the Mayor of the Municipality of the same name. Due to the fact that our Metropolis is occupied, the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Nikos Nouris and the Council of Ministers sent an amending Bill to the Parliament to fill the gap by proposing that the seat and the Presidency of the Temporary Coordinating Council be assumed by the largest Municipality. As, that is, it was self-evident, according to the statements of the Minister of the Interior. The MPs Kyriakos Hatzigiannis of DISY and Christos Senekis of DIKO submitted a motion to reject the bill with which these MPs seem to be clearly attempting to abolish the de facto temporary urban center of the free province of Famagusta which is the Municipality of Paralimni and by extension the new Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia.

With the reform of the local government, the new Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia will have 60% of the population of the free province, 65% of the water consumption, 70% of the Planning Permits and 70% of the sewage, services for which it will have responsibility the Provincial Organisation.

With this proposal, the specific deputies of DISY and DIKO, tirelessly and contrary to the presumptions mentioned above, attempt to overturn the principle of proportionality and the self-evident, according to the Minister of the Interior. With their energy, they strengthen the efforts of those who want to preserve the tombstone in the development of the province of Famagusta.

I call on the President and the members of the Parliamentary Committee on the Interior to decide whether to approve or reject the proposal of the Ministry of the Interior and the Council of Ministers and to send the matter as soon as possible to the Plenary of the House for a decision, so that ours can also province to prepare this new local government organization in time.

We clearly want and demand to know which parties and which candidates for the Presidency of the Republic agree or disagree with the proposal of the Minister of the Interior.

NO MATTER WHAT SOMEONE TRY TO KEEP US BUSY THEY WILL NOT SUCCEED.
