In a climate of deep emotion and overwhelm, dozens of believers flooded the Holy Monastery of the Apostle Andrew as 150 years have passed since the inauguration of the Martyr Monastery of Karpasia.
In the holy monastery, a solemn Hierarchical Collaboration was performed by the head of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Patras Mr. Chrysostomos, collaborators of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Mr. Vassilios and the Theophilestatos Bishop Christofas and others.
Despite the bad weather conditions prevailing in the area, the faithful visited the renovated Monastery, lit their candle and prayed reverently.
The construction of the new church began in 1855 on a rocky area. The inauguration was performed by the Archbishop of Cyprus Sophronios on August 15, 1867.
