The association between environmental protection and social activism of Rizokarpasos demands that measures be taken between Gialousa and Rizokarpasos, after the latest road accidents caused by donkeys, referring to a defamation campaign.
According to the occupiers, the president of this association, Firat Borak, stated that the real problem is that the "environment department" has been trying to collect the donkeys of the peninsula for two years in small spaces.
He called for immediate measures to be taken on the Gialousa-Rizakarpasou road to prevent donkey accidents and said animals should be moved indoors not near main roads.
In two separate accidents last night, vehicles collided with donkeys that were suddenly thrown on the road, killing one quadruped and seriously injuring the other. Cars were also severely damaged.
Residents of the area protested because two years have passed since the announcement and the donkeys are still free, noting that in the past there have been many traffic accidents due to the fact that they were thrown on the road.
