Styliani Saranti made Sotira proud: Silver medal in the Balkan K20

Six medals (2 silver and 4 bronze) were the harvest of Cyprus in the Balkan Junior Championship (or athletes-three under the age of 20), which was held in Cluj-Napoca (Romania).

On the second day of the races (June 3, 2019), Stavros Spyrou (800 meters), Styliani Saranti (Height) and Styliana Kyriakidou (Shooting) took the podium.

On the first day of the games, apart from Kyriakidou, two other young champions of ours also won medals. Nikolas Kesidis threw 67,14m. in Sfirovolia and came out third, as well as Kyriakos Pampakas in Ipsos, with a jump of 2,08 (he lost the second place due to a worse second performance). Both, however, have long secured the qualifying limits for the European Bora, as well as the javelin thrower Spyros Savva, who came fourth in Cluj with a better shot at 64,46m. Our triple jumper, Christos Zafeiris, was also fourth, with 14,97m, but unfortunately for eight points he was far from the limit for the European Junior Championship.
