The Budget of the Municipality of Sotiras for 61 is surplus by 2019 thousand euros but also developmental.
As the Mayor of Sotiras, Georgios Takkas, stated in KYPE, “the budget of the Municipality for 2019 aims at the implementation of as many mature projects as possible, such as road and landscaping projects but also projects that aim at upgrading the quality of life and safety of its citizens Savior".
He added that "for 2019, important projects with a total value of 1,8 million euros have been included. These include road network construction projects, such as the construction and landscaping of the road of the Holy Temple of the Resurrection (Anastaseos Street) and the construction of Dimitras Street in the coastal area.
According to Mr. Takkas, "the most important project is the beginning of the construction of the Sotiras - Deryneia road, for which a budget of 347 thousand euros has been included for 2019 and 400 thousand for 2020. The construction of the Sotiras - Deryneia road is Urban Planning project and is expected to amount to a total of 13 million euros, while the two Municipalities, Sotiras and Deryneia will pay 20% each of their share of costs.
Answering a relevant question, Mayor Sotiras stated that "in the budget of the Municipality for 2019 has been included a fund for the completion of the Social Benefits Center, for the completion of the official premises of the Municipal Stadium Sotiras and the construction of Auxiliary Stadium with lighting installation, for replacement water supply network ".
He also stated that "the budget still includes funds for the purchase of land for the construction of the second phase of the Municipal Cemetery, for the expansion of the building of the Community Volunteer Council Sotiras but also for the construction of a monument dedicated to Christodoula, in whose memory it takes place every year the symbolic course from PASYKAF with an end point, the point where he cooled down betrayed by the incurable disease in the black summer of 1974 ".
According to Mayor Sotiras, "the budgets of the Municipality include smaller projects, such as the reconstruction of Kyriakou Matsi Street, the reconstruction of rural roads, the expansion of the Garden Theater stand of Sotiras City Hall and the upgrade and expansion of the restaurant in the restaurant."
He also stated that "the plans of the Municipality have been completed by an office of specialized designers for the coastal area which will include sidewalks, bike paths, parks, sea boats, as well as a restaurant within the sea area and has been submitted to the competent Departments for approval. It is expected that by February 2019 both the Sotira Beach Front Regeneration Plan and the Sotira Central Core Regeneration Plan will be before the relevant departments for their approval and inclusion in future budgets ", the Mayor concluded.
