Owners or responsible persons of houses and other premises in the area of the Municipality of Sotira are notified to remove stagnant water from basements or yards of houses / apartment buildings / swimming pools in operation, in order to prevent mosquitoes from accessing a pond. of their eggs and can hatch thousands of mosquitoes, which affect the whole area.
Stagnant water must be pumped by owners / managers by 15 May 2022.
The responsibility for cleaning lies solely with the owner or responsible person. Those owners or responsible persons who can not arrange for themselves to empty stagnant water from swimming pools, etc., can contact the Municipal Service at 23963133, with the appropriate charge.
After May 15, 2022, a workshop of the Municipality of Sotiras will enter the premises where stagnant water is found, will take care of their removal and will charge the owners or the responsible persons.
In these cases, all legal measures will be taken to recover the costs, not excluding legal costs.
This notice is also considered as a personal notice to all the above mentioned owners or responsible persons and is sent based on the Law on Municipalities (Law 111/85, articles 91 and 92).
