Recently, the Mayor of Sotira Mr. Georgios Takkas and the Elder Antonios Ioannou signed on behalf of the Church of the Savior the agreement for the lease of church land to the Municipality of Sotira for a period of twenty years with the aim of creating a Multipark for all ages in the center.
Specifically, the multi-park will be created on Makarios Avenue and between the building of the Sotiras Social Benefits Center, the Sotiras Catechism Meetings and the XNUMXst Primary School of Sotiras.
It will be implemented in two phases and the first phase is expected to reach 350 thousand euros and will include, among others, a small multi-purpose multipurpose field, multi-purpose recreational toys for children aged 1-5, multi-purpose recreational toys for children aged 6-13, outdoor fitness equipment , kiosks, benches, rest areas, toilets, changing rooms, as well as public toilets.
Phase B will include the construction and creation of new courts within the school unit of Sotiras Primary School A and the replacement of the existing ones with a new outdoor basketball court, a new outdoor futsal football field, a new outdoor volleyball court). Phase B will be implemented with the contribution of the Ministry of Education.
Mayor Sotiras expressed his satisfaction for the progress of the projects as well as for the short period of time that the plans for the multi-park have been implemented. It will be, as he mentioned, something innovative and something that is needed by families with young children, as well as young people and the elderly for leisure in the center of the Municipality of Sotira. He stressed, at the same time, the excellent cooperation that exists between the Municipality and the Church of the Savior without failing to thank the service of the Municipality, the Church of the Savior, the Architect Grigoris Kyriakou for his important contribution as well as Iakovos Koumis and Panagiotis Zartilas for their voluntary contribution.
