The illegal garbage dump in Lake Paralimni on the Sotiras border was cleaned
After immediate and coordinated actions, the illegal garbage dump created by unconscious people on the southwest side of Lake Paralimni in the municipal boundaries of Sotira has been completely cleaned. The cleaning started on Friday 24 and was completed on the afternoon of Saturday 25 January.
The management and staff of the Giovani group contributed to this effort and thanked them for their immediate voluntary response and initiative. This area will be used for tree planting, within the green policy of the Giovani group for planting 5.000 "trees of hope" in the province of Famagusta.
The tree planting will take place on February 15, in collaboration with the Municipality of Sotiras, with the aim of upgrading the area, which as has been observed, is often suffered by unconscious citizens who take advantage of the fact that it is remote and transport useless materials and garbage.
On the occasion of this incident, the Municipality of Sotira warns through its announcement that within the framework of its garbage disposal policy, it is ready to impose heavy fines on violators, as provided by law, while a citizen who will be identified in the future to do so such acts will be punished by example.
