The Sotiras Municipal District of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, in collaboration with the Association "Aroma Ayia Napa - Friends of the Sculpture Park", invites you to honor with your presence the memorial service and the unveiling ceremony of the "Mari Heroes Monument - July 11, 2011", in eternal memory of the thirteen heroes who fell in the line of duty during the explosion at the "Evangelos Florakis" Naval Base in Mari.
The memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., at the Church of the Resurrection of the Savior, in Sotira.
The unveiling ceremony will follow, at 10:30 a.m., at the Fallen Mari Park, at the intersection of Agios Anastasios and Agias Thekla streets, in the Sotiras Municipal District.
The unveiling will be held by the Deputy Minister of Immigration and International Protection, Mr. Nicholas A. Ioannides.
The Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, the Deputy Mayor of the Sotiras Municipal District, Mr. Antonis Koumis, and the President of the Association "Aroma Ayia Napa - Friends of the Sculpture Park" Mr. Christakis Pittas pay due respect to the heroes of Mari, contributing to the preservation of historical memory and the timeless recognition of their sacrifice.
