The Sotiras Municipal Library of the Municipality of Ayia Napa is organizing a special cultural event on the occasion of the first presentation of the children's book "The Almond Tree Who Was Afraid of the Storm" by the author Kyriaki Charalambous.
The event will take place on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sotiras Municipal Library (Social Services Center), with free admission for the public.
The presentation program has been designed to offer a comprehensive and experiential experience for children, as it includes storytelling of the fairy tale with musical accompaniment, creating a magical atmosphere, as well as a creative construction workshop, where children will have the opportunity to make their own almond tree, inspired by the story.
The book is aimed at children aged 5 and up and conveys a tender but essential message about bravery, managing fear and the power of friendship.
The author Kyriaki Charalambous was born in 1988 in Paralimni and lives in Sotira. She is a lawyer and a PhD candidate at the Department of Law of the University of Cyprus, while she holds master's degrees in the fields of Criminal Justice and Human Rights and Gender Studies.
The event aspires to give children an unforgettable experience, combining literature, music and creative expression, while strengthening their love for books and imagination.
