On 27/02/2025 and between the hours of 17:00 - 20:00, a blood donation was held at the Sotiras social welfare center in memory of the victims from the Sotiras community who unjustly lost their lives due to road collisions.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Sotiras, Mr. Antonis Koumis.
The event was co-organized by the Community Policing of the Famagusta Police Department, the Sotira Youth Center, the Sotira Catechetical Synaxes and other organized groups of the Sotira community, with the understanding that blood donation is a top manifestation of human sensitivity and solidarity. During the event, information leaflets on road safety were given to the public by members of the Community Policing.
The aim of the event was to send a message of remembrance for the villagers who were unjustly lost on the asphalt and of support for their families, but also a message of awareness among the public, especially young people, about the prevention of road collisions. Public awareness actions for the prevention of road collisions in the Sotiras district will continue.
During the blood drive, 50 people donated blood, including members of the community police. The entire event was a success.
