The events begin on Monday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m. with a torchlight procession from the Sotira Catechetical Synagogues, which will begin at the Monument to the Fallen and Missing, pass through central streets and end at the Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior.
On the day of the National Anniversary, there will be a 5:30 a.m. Eothino by the Band of the Sotira Catechetical Congregations, a flag raising at the Sotira Fallen and Missing Memorial, and a 6:00 a.m. address by the Deputy Mayor of the Sotira Municipal District, Mr. Antonis Koumis.
Around 9:00 a.m., the Solemn Doxology will be held at the Holy Church of the Resurrection of the Savior, where the Solemn Doxology of the Day will be delivered by the Director of Secondary General Education of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, Mr. Nikolas Giasoumis.
This will be followed at 9:30 a.m. by a trisagion and the laying of wreaths at the Sotiras Fallen and Missing Monument, and at 10:00 a.m. by a parade along Arch. Makarios III Avenue. Schools and Organized Ensembles of the Sotiras District will take part. The Sotiras Catechetical Synagogues Band will perform.
The parade will be greeted by the Director of Secondary General Education of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, Mr. Nikolas Giasoumis, the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, and the Deputy Mayor of the Sotira Municipality, Mr. Antonis Koumis.
The events conclude at 6:00 p.m. with the lowering of the flag by the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Sotiras, Mr. Antonis Koumis.
