The National Committee for Thalassemia and Other Hemoglobin Diseases (NEC) says goodbye with deep sadness to Panagiotis Anastasis, 40 years old, a patient with sickle cell anemia and a beloved member of the Cypriot family of people with hemoglobinopathies, who ended up yesterday at the Famagusta General Hospital after complications related to the disease.
