Unknown individuals vandalized the “Alakati” coastal park in Sotira at noon on Sunday 15/06/2025.
In a statement, "the Sotiras Municipal Government informs the public that the use of the “Alakati” coastal park is suspended due to vandalism of the area, until further notice. The public is asked to be careful for safety reasons."
The incident was reported to the Police by Deputy Mayor Sotiras Antonis Koumis.
In his post, the Deputy Mayor wrote, "municipal property belongs to all of us. Unfortunately, such phenomena by the few unscrupulous will not go unnoticed. As Deputy Mayor, I am aware of the incident and have already reported it to the competent authorities. These traffic lights were completely new, installed two months ago for the comfortable and safe use of the park by the citizens."
