On March 31, 2025, the reception of the flame carried by the runners of the Sotiras Reserve Commandos Club took place at the Sotiras Municipal District of the Municipality of Ayia Napa. The flame came from the candle of Father George Ioannou and symbolizes the continuing flame of struggle and sacrifice.
A trisagion followed in memory of the heroic fighters of the EOKA 1955-1959, those who fought with self-denial and bravery for the freedom of Cyprus.
The event concluded with a Torch Relay by the Sotira Catechetical Synagogues.
