The Byzantine church of Agios Mamas was visited by the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, where he was informed about the work carried out in the surrounding area.
The Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, was informed about the works to upgrade the surrounding area of the church of Agios Mamas in the Sotiras Municipal District, which was built in the 14th century, during his visit today (Friday, January 24).
"The upgrading and promotion of Byzantine churches and monuments as well as the unique identity of each district of our Municipality are among our priorities," stated Mr. Zannetou.
He also added that the Municipality's goal is to promote our cultural heritage and promote religious tourism in all Municipal Districts.
The upgrading of the surrounding area of the church of Agios Mamas was carried out with the financial support of the Famagusta Regional Development Agency.
