An open meeting was held on the evening of Tuesday, June 19 in the event hall of the branch of the Cooperative Central Bank in Sotira on the subject of agricultural insurance of products.

The event was held on the initiative of the Pancyprian Greenhouse Organization of Cyprus and was also attended by MPs Mhalis Giorgallas, Kyriakos Hatzigiannis and George Karoullas.

In his statements after the rally, the President of the Pancyprian Greenhouse Organization of Cyprus, Angelos Aggeli, expressed his disagreement with the Government's plan for the agricultural insurance policy and the obligatory, according to him, insurance of agricultural products.

As Mr. Aggeli stated, the position of the greenhouse owners is negative for the compulsory insurance of the farmers and that the right to insurance must remain on a voluntary basis.

During the gathering, various suggestions and views of farmers and representatives of agricultural organizations were expressed.
