Damage was caused to two livestock farms in Vrysoules and Sotira by the stormy winds that were blowing today in the free area of Famagusta.
As Giannakis Gabriel, District Secretary of EKF Famagusta, told KYPE, the stormy winds that were blowing today in the area of the free province of Famagusta, caused damage to two livestock farms in Vrysoules and Sotira.
He explained that in one case in Vrysoules the winds "literally lifted in the air" the estate of a 45-year-old from Vrysoules, which is used as a paddock for his sheep.
He added that tin roofs and other parts of the property were thrown at a great distance from the strong winds, with the damage amounting to around three thousand euros.
A 46-year-old livestock farm in Sotira was also damaged by the winds, with the damage amounting to around two thousand euros. Specifically, the strong winds robbed roofs and other parts of the property.
Mr. Gabriel said that tomorrow morning he will pay an on-site visit to the damaged livestock farms, Vrysoules and Sotira.
It will also ask the competent bodies to visit the specific premises to record the damage in order for their owners to receive the necessary compensation.
