Sparks on cables of the Cyprus Electricity Authority in the Larnaca and Famagusta districts were caused by strong winds observed during the storm Barbara that hit at midnight.
According to a post by the Fire Service's Press Spokesperson, Andreas Kettis, on platform X, "due to strong wind intensity, the Service responded to three sparks from EAC electrical cables, one in the Famagusta district and two in the Larnaca district."
It is added that these specific "incidents were handled by members of the Fire Department in collaboration with EAC crews."
