Metropolitan Basilios of Constantia - Famagusta was elected President of the Orthodox World Council of Churches (WCC).

The name of Metropolitan Vassiliou of Constantia - Famagusta was proposed for the position of President for the Orthodox Church, with the blessing of the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos II, it is added.
According to the post "during the voting Metropolitan Basilios was elected to the position of the President of the Orthodox of the World Council of Orthodox Churches".
It is noted that "around 11 thousand people from 8 "churches" members of the World Council are participating in the work of the 4th General Assembly of the PSE on the theme "The love of Christ promotes the world towards settlement and unity", which will be completed on September 350. .
