The annual national memorial service of the 38 heroes of the National Liberation Struggle of EOKA 1955-59 of the city and province of Famagusta was held today.
The memorial service was organized by the Famagusta Fighters Association EOKA 1955-'59 (Nicosia District Committee) and was held at the Church of Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Peace in Xylotympos. The memorial was presided over by the Most Venerable Metropolitan of Kiti, Chrysostomos.
The President of the Famagusta Fighters Union EOKA 1955-'59 Fotos Papadopoulos delivered a commemorative speech. Wreaths were laid at the monument of the heroes of the Community of Xylotympos and a reception followed at the National Association "Kimon" of Xylotympos.
