He gave an interview to Famagusta.News the Candidate Member of Parliament for Solidarity in Famagusta, Theodora Sergiou.
Through 8 questions, she gives her own answers about her candidacy, her views and her message to the world.
Why did you decide to run in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections?
I decided to run as a candidate in the upcoming parliamentary elections because I believe it is time for the young people, the new generation to take the baton from the older ones to shape the future that belongs to her and deserves it. I will dedicate all my efforts to this effort and I will work with enthusiasm, dedication, method and seriousness. As a young person I will fight with stubbornness, determination and selflessness for the consolidation of public life, the fight against corruption and entanglement and the service of ordinary citizens in conditions of equality, justice and humanity regardless of political and ideological beliefs.
What do you think are the most important issues that should concern the new composition of the House of Representatives?
The most important issues that should concern the new Parliament are:
Turkey has recently hardened its stance on the Cyprus settlement negotiations. This in combination with the provocative actions of the pseudo-state and Ankara for the settlement of the enclosed Famagusta, show on the one hand a blatant violation of international law and on the other hand intensify their provocative and rigid stance. What is your position?
My positions and suggestions are:
The province of Famagusta has been hit hard, especially recently by the crisis caused by the pandemic. The tourism and agricultural sectors have suffered incalculable damage with social consequences also being evident. What should be the task of the new parliament in support of free Famagusta?
By what criteria would you like the voters to elect the 56 deputies?
The main selection criteria of the candidates are:
All candidates and parties refer to the change. What does change mean to you?
Change for me means:
What will be your first concern in the event of your election?
My first concern in case of my election is:
What is your message to the voters?
My message to the voters is to help us finally turn the page on the sinful past of our public life.
To come to the polls in large numbers and select the candidates with purely meritocratic criteria.
Abstention favors the strengthening of the present situation which has led our people to despair, hopelessness and resignation.
We are at a critical crossroads:
In the Cyprus issue, in the Society, the Economy, the security of our future.
NOW is the time to make the change and take our fortunes into our own hands.
