What did the lawyer of the 19-year-old Andreas Pittatzis say (VIDEO)

The defense attorney of the 19-year-old from Britain, who is accused of causing public harm, spoke to journalists about the current process before the Famagusta district court in Paralimni, which according to the penal code carries a prison sentence of up to one year or a fine of up to one year and a fine.

Andreas Pittatzis told the camera of Famagusta.News that today the case was set for the accused to respond to the indictment that has been served on her. He explained, as he explained, a postponement of one week, in order to collect all the evidence that the Police collected during the investigation phase of the case. After all the evidence has been communicated to the defense, the accused will be informed of the facts before her in order to decide what her response will be to the accusations on August 7, when the court will meet again.

Until then, she will remain in custody, which was, as she said, her own decision.

Everything that was heard in court

The 19-year-old British woman, who is facing charges of public damage, due to false testimony, was brought before the Famagusta District Court again.

According to what was heard in court, one of the 19-year-old's defense attorneys did not object to the 19-year-old's detention request but suggested that they be given a few days to respond to the indictment. According to what he stated, for unknown reasons, not all the evidence material has been notified, while all the evidence cases were absent. In addition, according to the defense attorney, no other evidence has been disclosed, such as audiovisual materials.

At the same time, the defense attorney told the court that he did not have the opportunity to talk to the 19-year-old.

When taking the floor, the judge stated that the 19-year-old is facing a charge of public harm and the seriousness of the crime becomes obvious. "I notice that compared to other offenses, this is not the most serious in terms of the elements that compose it or the sentence provided. The offense in question is at the lowest rung of the scale of its kind. However, there is another aspect to the issue due to the severity of her complaint. The arrest and detention of these individuals for a significant period of time put them in a serious process for their social and personal life. This is a case of great concern. "

It was heard in court that the British woman has been in Cyprus since July 10. According to the judge, through the testimony material it is concluded that there is a possibility of conviction of the 19-year-old.

The court decided to send the 19-year-old British woman to trial, while on August 7 she is expected to answer the accusations. She will remain in custody until her trial.
