An economic forum will be held in the autumn with the aim of developing cooperation between companies in Cyprus and Lebanon.
A written announcement of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBE) Famagusta states that a recent meeting was held "at the Lebanese Embassy in Nicosia with the Ambassador of the country Mrs. Claude El Hajal and a delegation of the Board of the Chamber, consisting of Vice President Toni Toumazis, the member of the Board. Andri Epifaniou and the Secretary / Director of EVEA Sotiris Panagiotou ".
During the meeting, the members of the Chamber delegation "were briefed by the Ambassador on the situation in Lebanon, mainly regarding the economic and business activity of the country. "Also, an exchange of views took place and ways for further business cooperation between the two countries were examined".
At the meeting, "it was agreed that a Economic Forum be held jointly, under the auspices of EBE Famagusta next Autumn. Within the framework of the event, ways of developing cooperation between companies of the two countries will be presented and Lebanese companies that are interested in developing their business activity in the Famagusta region will be presented ".
According to the announcement, "a business mission from Lebanon will take part in the event, while Ambassador El Hajal will present ways of cooperation between the two bodies".
