The Social Services Center of the Sotiras Municipal District was visited by the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, where he was informed about the services provided to all residents, such as Community Obstetrics and Newborn Hearing Screening Program. It also houses the Municipal Library and the Youth Center.
Accompanied by the Deputy Mayor Mr. Antonis Koumis and the Municipal Councilors of the Sotira Municipal District, the Mayor of Ayia Napa Mr. Christos Zannetou recently visited the Social Benefits Center of the Sotira Municipal District where he was informed by the competent officers about the various services provided by the center to citizens.
Specifically, Mr. Zannetou was given a tour of the center's premises where the Sotiras Municipal Library is housed, which was established in July 2022 and hosts around 8,454 volumes of books, the Youth Center, which has been housed since 2021 and is the physical presence of the Cyprus Youth Organization, through which information is provided about the Organization's programs and services.
Also housed are the Community Obstetrics service, which provides care to all women contracted with the General Maternity Hospital, the Amerikos Argyriou Preventive Pediatrics Center, which provides a Newborn Hearing Screening program aimed at the early detection and diagnosis of congenital hearing loss present in a newborn at birth, and the Sotiras Youth Center.
In his statements after the visit, the Mayor of Ayia Napa expressed his pride in the operation of the services and programs provided at the Social Benefits Center of the Sotira Municipality and added that the Municipality, recognizing the necessity of implementing social welfare projects and programs, will continue to enrich the center with new actions and programs that will cover other needs of citizens.
