The Runners Department of the Famagusta Anorthosis Association informs you about the organization of the Unfinished Famagusta Marathon 2022.
This is a road event that has as its ultimate goal, to highlight another aspect of the Turkish occupation in our country. That of the impossibility of finishing the Famagusta Marathon in the planned space, the G.S.E. Therefore, the Unfinished Marathon of Famagusta will "finish" at the Deryneia roadblock, having covered a distance of only 36 kilometers since the remaining distance of 6,2 kilometers (from the roadblock to the GSE) can not be traveled precisely because of the Turkish occupation .
The Unfinished Famagusta Marathon is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Famagusta and the high protection of the Minister of Health Mr. Michalis Hadjipandelas.
It will be held on Sunday 05/06/2022 and will start at 07:30 at a point in the coastal area of Larnaca (opposite the Oroklini police station) and end at the Deryneia roadblock at 11:30. It will not be of a competitive nature and the participants, who come from most of the road ensembles of our place, will run the route together.
The Municipality of Famagusta and the Famagusta Runners Department invite all those who wish to participate in the symbolic race to be at the cultural center of the Municipality of Famagusta in Deryneia at 10:30.
All attendees will go through the last meters of the route (this part is symbolically called the route Antonis Papadopoulos - Niki Georgiou) together with the runners and will receive a commemorative medal and jersey of the race.
