The "Easter Monday in the Village" event was successfully held on Easter Monday, April 13, 2026, in the Municipal District of Acherito, offering residents and visitors a beautiful celebration dedicated to Easter customs, local tradition and the vibrant continuation of the customs of our place.
The event highlighted beautiful aspects of our folk heritage and gave young and old the opportunity to participate in a day full of joy, fun and shared references to the memory and identity of the place. The contribution of all those who worked on the organization and those who supported with love and passion an initiative that keeps the pulse of local tradition alive was decisive.
In his greeting, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, stated that such events have a special value, as they give the elders the opportunity to relive familiar moments and the younger children to get to know firsthand the way in which our place has always celebrated. He also emphasized that the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia considers it very important to support actions that are rooted in the place, its people and our common memories, highlighting the physiognomy, history and soul of each municipal district.
The Mayor also congratulated the artists of the event, Yannis Margaris and Michaela Theodorou, for their contribution to the festive program, as well as all those who participated with their dances, traditional games and overall presence, contributing to filling Acheritos Square with liveliness, music and Easter joy.
