Written by Eleftheria Chr. Komodromou

For another year away from our beloved village, Acheritou.

For another year away from our homeland and our homes.

Our beloved Acheritou, you are so close and yet so far from us.

The barbed wire of slavery separates us for 48 years, but your memory is always here.

The Free Acheritou Association and the Acheritou Community Council invite you to honor with your presence at the Memorial event that will take place on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 8.30 am. in the settlement of Agios Georgios Acheritos, in the church of Agios Dimitrios.

The event is under the auspices of the Commissioner of the Presidency, Mr. Fotis Fotiou.

The program includes:

  • Commemoration of Fallen and Executed Acherians and prayer for finding our missing.
  • Trisagion and laying of wreaths at the Memorial of the Fallen, Missing and Massacred of the Aheritou community, in the Settlement of Agios Georgios Vrysoullon - Acheritou.
