On Monday, February 17, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the "European Capital of Culture Ayia Napa 2030 Organization" and the "Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI)". The Agreement was ratified by the Presidents of the two bodies, Mr. Yannis Karousos and Mr. Charalambos Manolis respectively.

This collaboration strengthens Ayia Napa's candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030, highlighting the multiple economic and social benefits that will arise for the wider region of free Famagusta.

Through the Memorandum, the two organizations commit to working together to promote the candidacy, enhance cultural development and create a strong economic ecosystem, supporting tourism, businesses and industries in the region.

Mr. Yannis Karousos stated, "Today's agreement is a decisive step towards achieving our common goal. Our collaboration with the EBEA strengthens our claim and makes the most of the cultural and economic potential of our region."

Accordingly, Mr. Charalambos Manolis pointed out: "Ayia Napa's candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture is a unique opportunity for the development and promotion of the region. The EVEA strongly supports this effort and looks forward to a fruitful cooperation."
The signing of the Memorandum marks the beginning of a strategic partnership that will shape an innovative and sustainable cultural and economic vision for Ayia Napa and the free Famagusta region.
