The cooperation agreement provides for further and close cooperation between the two cities in terms of exchange of know-how, tourism and entrepreneurship, as well as in the cultural connection of the two cities, while it is also strengthened by the already existing air connection.

The signing of the cooperation agreement was signed at the Paralimni - Deryneia Town Hall in Paralimni by the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia Mr. Giorgos Nikolettos and the Mayor of the city of Radom Mr. Radosław Witkowski in the presence of two of the three Deputy Mayors of the Polish city, Ms. Katarzyna Kalinowska and Ms. Marta Michalska-Wilk.

The signing of the cooperation agreement provides for the creation of friendly relations between the two cities with the aim of signing a special twinning memorandum.

Both Mr. Nikolettos and Mr. Witkowski underlined the necessity of creating close relations between the two cities, given the ever-increasing flow of Polish visitors to the tourist resort of Protaras as well as to Cyprus in general.

The modest signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement was also attended by the President of the Famagusta Regional Development Authority, the Deputy Mayors of Deryneia, Frenaros and Acheritos, members of the Paralimni - Deryneia Municipal Council, the President of PASYXE Famagusta, the Director of ETAP Famagusta, as well as hoteliers and businessmen in the area.

Subsequently, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia gave the Mayor and Deputy Mayors of the city of Radom a guided tour of the Protaras beachfront, with the members of the Polish delegation expressing their enthusiasm for the beauty and rich history of the area.
