As the Statistical Service announced on Thursday, the unemployment rate for men was 12,2% or 27.892 people while for women the rate was 9,8% or 20.275.

In the 4th quarter of 2011 the number of unemployed was 38.785 people or 8,9% (men 9,8% and women 8,0%) and the corresponding percentage for the 1st quarter of 2011 was 7,5% or 32.336 people (men 7,4% and women 7,6%).

In the first quarter of 1, the number of employees amounted to 2012 thousand people (men 386,1 thousand and women 200,5 thousand) and the number of unemployed to 185,6 thousand people (men 48,2 thousand and women 27,9 , 20,3 thousand).

The employment rate of people aged 20-64 was at 70,3% in the first quarter of 2012 (men 75,6% and women 65,5%) down from the previous quarter of 2011, 72,1% (men 77,5 , 67,2% and women 2011%) as well as from the corresponding quarter of 74,3, 80,6% (men 68,5% and women XNUMX%).

Analysis of the unemployed by age shows, according to the Statistical Service, that the unemployment rate is higher for young people aged 15-24 where it reached 26,7% of the labor force of these ages (men 28,0% and women 25,1 %). In the 4th quarter of 2011 the percentage was 26,0% (men 26,5% and women 25,5%) while in the 1st quarter of 2011 the percentage was 20,7% of the workforce of these ages (men 22,0% and women 19,4%).

Regarding the duration of unemployment, 53,2% of the total unemployed were looking for work for a period of less than 6 months, 22,3% for a period of 6-11 months, while 24,5% were looking for work for a year and above. The corresponding percentages for the 4nd quarter of 2011 were (53,7%, 21,7%, 24,6%) while for the 1rd quarter of 2011 they were (70,2%, 12,6% and 17,2%) .

According to the distribution of employment by sector, the largest percentage of employees was collected by services with 76,3%, while industry followed with 20,7% and finally agriculture with only 3,0%. In the second quarter of 4, 2011% were employed in services, 75,9% in industry and 20,8% in agriculture. In the 3,3rd quarter of 1 the respective percentages were: services 2011%, industry 74,8% and agriculture 21,0%.

Part-time employment accounted for 11,0% of total employment or 42.405 people (men 8,3% and women 13,9%). In the 4nd quarter of 2011 the percentage of part-time employment was 10,3% (men 7,7% and women 13,2%) while the corresponding percentage for the 1rd quarter of 2011 was 10,8% (men 8,0% and women 13,9%).

Of those employed, 82,7% or 319.173 were employees (employees), of whom 13,4% had temporary work. The corresponding percentage for the 4th quarter of 2011 was 82,6% (with temporary work 14,4%). In the first quarter of 1, employees accounted for 2011% of total employment and of these, 81,5% had temporary work.

The average regular working hours per week in the main job for full-time employees was 41,1 hours (men 41,6 and women 40,6 hours), while for part-time employees it was 20,3 hours (men 20,5 and women 20,2 hours).

In the 4th quarter of 2011 the corresponding hours for full-time employees were 41,1 hours (men 41,7 and women 40,4 hours), while for part-time employees it was 20,3 hours (men 20,3 and women 20,3 hours).

In the first quarter of 1 the average regular working hours for full-time employees was 2011 hours (men 41,0 and women 41,6 hours), while for part-time employees it was 40,3 hours (men 20,3 and women 19,9 hours).
