About 3.500 events took place or will take place during the Cypriot presidency. Cyprus is preparing to receive the thousands of guests whom the authorities will have to satisfy in order to send a positive image abroad.
In this context, 12.000 ties and 7.000 scarves have already been ordered and prepared and will be given as gifts to the participants. At the same time, 45.000 dossiers have been ordered for delegates as well as almost 4.000 craft gifts for EU ministers.
As part of the preparations, rehearsals for the VIPs will take place in April. The ministers who will arrive in Cyprus will be transferred by supervisors of the Road Transport Department who will be trained for this purpose.
As it turned out, the reception rooms of the new Larnaca airport are not enough, so the old one may be recruited.
Ministers and other officials will be hosted in hotels in Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos. Free Famagusta will be full of tourists and was not interested.
