13 tricks applied by supermarkets

There is a reason that experts insist on making a list for your shopping before you go to the supermarket and try to adhere to it but also not to go shopping hungry.

Every spot in a supermarket is designed to make you spend more money and buy more things than you really need.

1. The shopping cart was invented in 1938 to allow consumers to buy larger quantities without having to carry them.

2. Most supermarkets place shelves with flowers or baked goods near the entrance, so you are more likely to buy something while the stroller is still empty and your morale is high.

3. Another reason that flowers and fresh buns are placed at the entrance is the smell. Smells like this increase the chances of making spontaneous purchases but also set your mood.

4. Supermarkets place milk and other essential foods in the back of the store so you have to cross with the whole store.

5. The corridors are constructed in such a way as to direct the consumers to cross them only in a straight line and not to block the road to go to the adjacent corridor.

6. In most stores, consumers walk from right to left, just as it does when driving, which is why products are placed on the right side.

7. The products and foods that the supermarket wants to promote more are at the eyes of the consumer, such as the most expensive cereals.

8. Respectively, the cereals that have the most sugar and are the children's favorite are on a lower shelf, so that it is in their field of vision.

9. The points where they urge you to try some cheese or other products, try to delay you in order to promote their new foods.

10. Size counts. Overcrowded supermarkets discourage consumers from staying inside for long periods of time, making spontaneous purchases, and ultimately buying far fewer things and being less social and more nervous.

11. Warm colors are more consumer friendly.

12. Research has shown that soft music makes people spend more money, while loud music makes them move faster in the supermarket. Classical music pushes consumers to buy more expensive products.

13. The most lucrative spot in a supermarket is the one at the checkout.
