The auditions for the 29st Musical of the province of Famagusta were held on Saturday, March 1 at the Municipal Theater of Sotiras. The number of participants exceeded all expectations as candidates from every corner of the province and from all over Cyprus flooded the Municipal Theater at Sotiras City Hall with their wonderful voices.
From 10:00 in the morning, the candidate protagonists of the musical that will go up in the summer of 2015 gathered at the City Hall of Sotiras, where they submitted their candidacy and got their number. Then, after the members of the jury arrived, the auditions began, with the anxiety growing sharply.
The jury consisted of the creator and musician Ifigenia Sardalou, also the musician Antigoni Fotiou, the President of the Culture Committee of the Municipality of Sotiras, Florentia Savva, the music producer of POLITEIA FM Andreas Zampas and the dance teacher Maria Thalassinou. A big surprise was the participation in the jury of the famous actress of the successful series "Brusco" of ANT1, Christiana Theodorou, who plays Christina.
The auditions ended at 7 pm and after being examined in song, dance and acting, more than 100 candidates from Sotira, Avgorou, Paralimni, Frenaros, Deryneia, Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Nicosia, Limassol and other cities and villages of Cyprus.
Nevertheless, the judges were very satisfied with the participations, since most of the examinees literally left them open-mouthed with their performance and abilities.
It is worth noting that the musical will be staged at the Municipal Theater of Sotiras in the summer of 2015 while rehearsals and preparations will begin immediately. The musical is called "Once in a dream" and is the exclusive creation and editing of the musician Ifigenia Sardalos, while it is under the auspices and full support of the Municipality of Sotiras and the Culture Committee of the Municipality.
