The Department of Road Transport announces that the traffic licenses can be renewed from Wednesday 7/1/2015 on the internet, at the address http://rtd.mcw.gov.cy, in Cooperative Credit Institutions, in commercial Banks, in the Centers Citizen Service (KEP), at the Provincial Offices of the Postal Services Department, and at the Provincial Offices of the Road Transport Department (TOM).
The last date for the renewal of marketing authorizations is Monday 9/2/2015. It is emphasized that, based on the new legislation that entered into force on 1/1/2014, the marketing authorizations will be renewed until Monday 9/2/2015 without charge.
Pursuant to the same legislation, for renewals of marketing authorizations that will take place after Monday 9/2/2015, the sum of the amount of 30 euros and an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the marketing authorization will be imposed as a charge. annual marketing authorization.
The inspection of the vehicles will start on Tuesday 10/2/2015 and from this date the Police and the Road Transport Department will report those who drive vehicles without a valid registration permit.
Every registered owner should make sure that their vehicle license is renewed before the last renewal date of the licenses. To renew the license, there must be a valid certificate of suitability and car insurance.
All drivers are asked to take care of the renewal of their vehicle registration in time and not to wait for the last days, in order to avoid a possible overload of the system that can cause inconvenience.
It is reminded and emphasized that those who had renewed the registration of their vehicle in 2014, but do not intend to renew it for 2015, should either submit to the Department of Road Transport the "Certificate of Destruction" issued by licensed waste treatment facilities, or to submit to the Department an application for immobilization of the vehicle, by completing the form TOM 12. Otherwise, the obligation to pay the amount corresponding to the registration fee continues to exist as a civil debt owed to the Republic.
Marketing licenses can be renewed at the offices of TOM, KEP, the Department of Postal Services and online throughout the year. It is reminded and emphasized that notifications will not be sent to the registered owners for the renewal of the marketing licenses.
