In December 2011, based on seasonally adjusted data showing the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed increased to 31.432 persons, compared to 30.991 in the previous month.
Based on the data kept at the District Labor Offices, the number of registered unemployed at the end of December 2011, reached 32.895 persons.
Compared to December 2010, there was an increase of 7.202 persons or 28,0%, which is mainly attributed to the sectors of trade (increase of 1.585 unemployed), construction (increase of 1.352), activities of accommodation services and catering services (increase of 1.224), manufacturing (increase 969), public administration (increase 426), as well as new entrants to the labor market where there was an increase of 437 unemployed.
