Shocking was the testimony of Costas Georgiou on the show Mesimeri kai Kati, who described his injury on Easter 2005, when he went, as he said, to do "the biggest bang" in his neighborhood, with a cracker.
Costas, describing the horrible experience he had then, when he was 13 years old, said that he lost his 3 fingers and his palm, something that he realized, as he said, at night, in the bed of pain in a clinic, when the doctor had gone to change his wound.
Costas has undergone about 30 surgeries, in order to return his hand to a condition that will make his daily life easier.
Georgiou gives the message that it is not worthwhile for anyone to deal with this "custom", as he characteristically said, for a bang.
