Citizens' views on the economy, the memorandum and unemployment four years after the cut in deposits and one year after the country withdrew from the memorandum, is recorded in a large poll conducted by the newspaper "Simerini", conducted by IMR and the University of Nicosia .

Of concern is the 35% who state that they have unemployed people in their family, while 85% note that they have found work after the country left the memorandum.

Although 58% of citizens believe that the country's economy has improved compared to previous years, evaluating unemployment 49% of citizens believe that the priority that our country should have in the economic sector is job creation , noting that the biggest thorn remains unemployment.

At the same time, 63% of citizens believe that the implementation of the memorandum had a positive or rather positive impact on the Cypriot economy. However, there is a difference in the personal finances of the citizens as in the period between the exit from the memorandum, only 12% saw their family finances improve in contrast to 45% who state that the situation remains unchanged and 43% to have gotten worse.

In another question about the degree of responsibility, the vast majority of citizens place responsibilities (to a large extent) with 67% in the previous government, 59% in the parliament and 37% in the current government.

At the same time when asked if in your opinion, those who have undergone deposit haircuts should be compensated, 65% believe that they should be fully compensated, 25% partially and 8% that they should not be compensated.

However, when asked four years later, whether you believe that President Anastasiadis knew or not that there would be a deposit haircut, 88% believe that he knew and 59% that the haircut was inevitable.

Although we have come out of the memoranda, the citizens note that in the essentials of fuel and electricity, the tax should be reduced, with the contribution to the defense to smoking and medicines to record lower percentages.

The research was carried out by the method of random stratified sampling, with telephone interviews all over Cyprus, in Urban and Rural areas, among samples of 500 people, men and women, over 18 years old.
