What would the Parliament be like if the 3,6% was valid in the parliamentary elections of 2011

The Ecologists would pay the price, EDEK would come out strengthened and DISY-AKEL would have some internal reshuffles if the law approved by the Parliament last Thursday to increase the electoral measure for the B 'and C' distribution was applied in the 2011 elections. In fact, this change would concern six of the 56 deputies who are currently in the House of Representatives.

As far as the parties are concerned, the only thing that would be left out of the Parliament would be the Ecologists' Movement, as with 2,21% that they gathered in the 2011 parliamentary elections, they could not pass to the XNUMXnd distribution, that is, where they then managed to elect George Perdikis as MP.

The winner in this case would be EDEK, which with 3,6% would have a representation of six instead of five deputies. EDEK, based on these data, would win its 6th seat in Larnaca, which means that Sophocles Sophocles would be an MP.

Democratic Alarm and AKEL, the two parties that voted in favor of changing the election law and came under fire from the rest, would not have any profit from the change of the electoral measure. They would remain with the same force in Parliament, ie 20 and 19 seats, respectively.

For both parties, the changes would be purely internal and would have to do with differentiating the composition of their parliamentary groups in two provinces. DISY would win a seat in Limassol and at the same time lose a seat in Larnaca. That is, Andreas Themistokleous, who entered Parliament after the election of Nikos Anastasiadis in 2013, would be in Parliament from 2011.

Mr. Anastasiadis would be replaced by Christos Pourgouridis. In Larnaca, Zacharias Zachariou would not be elected, who could enter Parliament after the appointment of T. Mitsopoulos, which means that Aristotle Misos would be left out.

As far as AKEL is concerned, it would have an addition to Nicosia and a subtraction to Limassol. That is, Panikos Hambas would be in Parliament instead of Costas Costas. The Democratic Party would remain in the same composition as today with the same nine deputies. The EUROCO would remain with the same composition, which means that through the departure of Nikos Koutsos from the party, the Citizens' Alliance would have, as today, one MP.
