Development projects of 46,28 million euros from the CMO

The COM plans to spend a total of 46,28 million euros in the coming years, on a total of ten sports infrastructure projects. Work on some of these projects is expected to begin in 2012, however, repayment will be made through a five-year or ten-year repayment from 2013 onwards… 

The above was mentioned before the Parliamentary Committee on Finance by the President of the Organization, Pampos Stylianou, in the context of the presentation of the organization's budget for 2012. The development projects include, among others, the upgrade of the Nicosia Olympic Swimming Pool the creation of a stadium AEL, ARIS and Apollon in Limassol, a hall in the Municipality of Paralimni and the construction of a swimming pool in the free area of ​​Famagusta.

"There is provision for two types of projects, they are the ongoing projects, which are projects that have started in the last one or two years and of course there is provision for ten new major projects, with a symbolic amount of 10 euros to create the capital," he said. Mr. Stylianou.

He went on to say that they are "important sports infrastructure projects which are already provided through the 2020 strategy and will largely cover the needs of sports in Cyprus, both for top sports and social sports."

Note: The CMO approved 1m euros for our stadium as well. The plans and terms of the offer from the previous Community Council are ready. Sports facilities and youth projects are required not postponed.
