A fifty-year-old Greek Cypriot businessman from Sotira was arrested yesterday afternoon to facilitate the police investigation into a case under investigation two months ago, for the amount of 10,34 grams of cocaine.
According to the Police, on September 9, shortly before 12 noon, a member of the Ayia Napa Police Station went to apartments in Ayia Napa to conduct examinations regarding a case that was being investigated by the station.
Upon entering an alley leading to the apartments, the Police Officer noticed a box of cigarettes on the windows of a property, which he opened. Inside the box were 15 pieces of nylon bags containing white powder weighing about 10,34 grams, which turned out to be cocaine.
The policeman handed over the box to a member of YKAN Famagusta for further examinations.
Yesterday, shortly after 4 pm, a 52-year-old resident of Sotira was arrested in Ayia Napa for this case, following information, with a court arrest warrant.
The man did not admit any involvement in the case and is being held at the Ayia Napa Police Station.
