This year, for the second time, the University of Cyprus is among the 200 best new universities in the world, this time occupying the 52nd position, despite its only 26 years of operation.

It is reminded that last year, for the first time, the University of Cyprus was among the 150 best new universities in the world, occupying the 55th place.

The results of the new ranking with the best "new" universities in the world - that is, universities that have been operating for less than 50 years (The 2017 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings) were published today, Wednesday, April 5, 2017, and for the 6th consecutive year, the Times Higher Education.

The University of Cyprus is ranked 52nd among the "most ambitious new Universities", which are now competing vigorously with the dominant traditional Universities. It is worth noting that once again the University of Cyprus emerged as the best university in Cyprus, while preceding the ranking of all universities in Greece.

This year the ranking, known as "THE 150 Under 50 Rankings", has been expanded to include 200 institutions.

It uses 13 performance indicators, which are grouped into the following areas: teaching, research, research citations, research and innovation revenue, and international outlook.
