The 5th Pancyprian Festival dedicated to potatoes is organized again this year by the Community of Avgoros and invites us to try alternative and traditional recipes based on potatoes. The Festival will take place on Saturday, July 22 in the yard of the First Elementary School of Avgoros and in it visitors will have the opportunity to try the local product of Avgoros but also to have fun in a traditional artistic program.

The Pancyprian Potato Festival

The 1st Potato Festival was organized in 2013 by the Cultural Club of THOI Avgoros at the Ethnographic Museum of the Community.

The aim of the Festival is to promote and promote the local product of Avgoros and the entire region of Kokkinochoria, while locals and foreign visitors have the opportunity to meet new recipes based on potatoes, with the inspiration and guidance of chef Nikos Stylianos , but also traditional recipes prepared by a group of volunteers and friends of Avgoros.

At the same time, since 2016, in collaboration with the CTO, workshops and seminars are organized on the subject of entrepreneurial opportunities created in the field of potato cultivation, the promotion of this product as a tourist, but also the upgrade of the Pancyprian Potato Festival.

Face cream and sweet potato

Within the framework of the Pancyprian Potato Festival, alternative uses of potatoes were presented, which the visitor of the Festival can try. With the cooperation of experts, soap and face cream have been prepared from potatoes, as well as sweets, some of which are potato jam, potato lava and traditional "pumps".
