Overthrow in the Supreme Court for the horrible death of "Billy" in a hotel in Protaras - From innocent, guilty

The Supreme Court overturned the first-instance verdict in the July 2014 murder case of the "Billy" dog in a hotel in Protaras, which they threw alive in a carton crushing machine.

From the autopsy the conclusion was that the death of the unfortunate Billy came from a cerebral hemorrhage resulting in a severe injury to the base of the skull.

After many months of hearing, the two defendants (the director of the "Anastasia - Tsokkos" hotel "Anastasia Tsokkou" and a hotel employee) who denied guilt, were acquitted on 9/12/2015 in all the charges they faced, which involved causing the death of the animal, as the court ruled that "there was no evidence and no one saw the defendants beating Billy with any sharp tool."

Following the court ruling, the Cyprus Animal Welfare Party appealed to the Supreme Court, which overturned the decision.

The sentence will be announced on January 23.
