All the villages in the occupied territories have been renamed by the occupying authorities, to the extent that some displaced persons, especially the younger second and third generation refugees, find it difficult to find them as part of their tour of the northern part of the island.

In Rizokarpaso, there is now a sign called Dipkarpaz, in Panagra they named it Geçitköy, while Omorfita was named Küçük Kaymaklı. This is the case with all the occupied villages.

The Cypriot application "Cypriot Villages", created by the company Ekkotek Ltd based in Nicosia, helps Cypriots and tourists to easily find the village they are looking for.

According to the information in the app, the application was developed to help mainly Cypriots but also tourists visiting the northern part of Cyprus to find a specific village they can look for, as after the Turkish invasion of 1974, the Turkish authorities have changed the names of all the villages, but also of all the place names

The application facilitates Cypriots and tourists to tour the northern occupied part of the island, finding all the names that the villages have today.
