The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will present the report of the Government's work for 2024 at a press conference in the first week of March, as he mentioned in his introductory statement at the start of the Council of Ministers' meeting on Wednesday. The President also referred to the decisions that the Council of Ministers is expected to take, in relation to the revitalization of remote areas of Tillyria, as well as safety at the stadiums.
Addressing the members of the House, he referred to the presentation last week of the Government's priorities for 2025 after several meetings held by the Cabinet, as well as meetings he himself had separately with each Minister on the basis of the Government's election program, which "is our social contract with the Cypriot people."
He asked the participants in the Cabinet to have the issues that concern them in front of their desks daily, so that progress and implementation of what has been publicly reported can be observed.
"And within the same framework, in the first week of March we will give a press conference, we will all be before all the media, to present the report of 2024," he said.
He recalled that 29 policies, reforms and projects were announced on January 2024, 88. He noted that in the report for 2024, other policies beyond the 88 will be mentioned.
Referring to the issues under discussion in the Cabinet, he said that the first concerns the communities of the Tillyria region and the promise made by the Government for a special housing revitalization plan within the framework of the plan for the revitalization of mountainous, remote and disadvantaged areas.
"An additional amount, 20 percent (will be given) for the areas of Tillyria, precisely to further strengthen the region. We announced projects worth more than 20 million euros, we are coming today to strengthen this specific issue that also touches on housing, it also touches on the new generation, it also touches on the need to revitalize the region and I am glad that today it will pass through the Council of Ministers," he said.
