The sale of Christmas trees from sales centers will only take place during working days (Monday-Friday) and hours (08:00-14:30).

It is clarified that the trees that will be made available come from thinnings of forest plantations in the context of forestry operations, which are carried out with the aim of improving growth conditions and reducing competition in forest plantations.

It is recalled that the logging, possession and transportation of Christmas trees without the relevant permit from the Department of Forests constitutes, according to the "Forest Law of 2012", an offense punishable by a fine of up to €5.000 or imprisonment for up to one year or both.

Private tree owners are urged to obtain the necessary logging and transportation permits in advance and to present them when requested by Forestry Department Officers for inspection. At the same time, before transporting trees from logging sites, they should ensure that they are sealed at the bottom (cross section) with a Forestry Department stamp, by contacting the nearest forest station.
