A Vietnamese woman living illegally in Cyprus was seriously injured when she jumped from the balcony of an apartment in Nicosia to avoid police control της 

According to a police announcement, around 3.30 p.m. Yesterday, members of the Police went, after citizen information, to a building in Nicosia, for inspection.

Three women of Asian descent were found in a first floor apartment who showed their identities to the police.

When asked for their documents for verification, one of them told them that they were in an adjoining room.

While initially heading to the room, the woman then jumped from the balcony of the apartment, about four meters high to the ground, resulting in injury.

As it was found out, this is a 27-year-old woman from Vietnam, who resides illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, after her residence permit expired on 22/12/11.

The 27-year-old was transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Nicosia, where it was found that she suffered a vertebral and lower limb fracture and was kept for treatment.

A search of the documents of the other two women revealed that they were legally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
